nlsxodbc.dll quarantined by NIS

Hi

Just installed SE9 .. Windows/7 32bit client, designer, admin.

I'm running Norton Internet Security on the machine I installed it on..  nlsxodbc.dll was flagged and quarantined by NIS detecting 'Suspicious.Clout.7.F' vulnerability. I suspect erroneously.

I could subsequently restore it and flag it so it doesn't get flagged in further scans.

Dunno who to let know..  screencaps and other info upon request.

Let's try some stuff.
We run Symantec's anti-virus tool and scan the Notes binaries before they are packaged.

Let's determine if the file has been modified on your machine. It's possible something modified it.

Download the checksum tool from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11533

Follow the instructions and run it against your copy of nlsxodbc.dll

This is the reported checksum of the Notes 9.0 gold verison of the file

RE: nlsxodbc.dll quarantined by NIS

Thanks for the reply..

The file seems to check out with your checksum.. here are my results..

c:\temp\msutil>fciv -add G:\DownloadDirector\notes9\DOMINO_DESI_ADM_9.0_32B_WIN_
EN.exe
//
// File Checksum Integrity Verifier version 2.05.
//
d88795976b64af215f821cbca0218f00 g:\downloaddirector\notes9\domino_desi_adm_9.0_
32b_win_en.exe

c:\temp\msutil>fciv -add nlsxodbc.dll
//
// File Checksum Integrity Verifier version 2.05.
//
3bb773ae630a88f5c8dbf375d06a9cc3 nlsxodbc.dll

c:\temp\msutil>

I ran it first on my install file .. in case you wanted that info later..

and then specifically on the nlsxodbc.dll file.

I also received a note over the weekend from a fellow in Australia who saw my append and said he had the same issue .. He reported it to Symantec.  They are looking at it as well according to him.

Thanks
